Non-Emergency Medical Transportation in La Plata, MD
Safe, reliable rides for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Why Choose Us
La Plata is the small county seat of Charles County, but the medical ground our riders cover stretches well past the town limits. UM Charles Regional Medical Center sits at the heart of local care, while dialysis patients travel to Fresenius Kidney Care Laplata and DaVita LA Plata Dialysis three times a week, and specialty visits often mean a longer trip up US-301 toward D.C. or Baltimore. We provide professional, door-to-door rides across La Plata and Charles County for dialysis, hospital visits, specialist appointments, and the everyday trips that keep people connected — church on Sunday, a grocery run on Rosewick Road, a lunch at the Clark Senior Center.
Every trip begins at your front door. We greet you, walk you to the vehicle, and make sure you're settled before we head out. When you're finished at the clinic or the hospital, we're waiting — not circling the lot. It's the kind of care you'd want for your own mom, your own dad, the person you love most.
On-Time, Every Time
We know medical appointments can't wait. Our providers prioritize punctuality so you never miss a treatment.
Trained, Compassionate Drivers

Testimonials
My daughter arranged the ride for me after my hysterectomy. The driver was a young man who was incredibly respectful and helpful. He made sure I was comfortable before we even left the parking lot.
– Marilyn D.
My dad goes to his cardiologist, his diabetes doctor, and his eye specialist — all on different schedules. They manage all three without a single mix-up. Incredible organization.
– Mildred T.
The wheelchair lockdown system in the vehicle was the best I've experienced. Four-point tie-down, shoulder belt option, and the driver tested every connection. I felt completely secure the entire trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a ride?
You can reach us by phone at 877-369-5457 or tap the "Book a Ride" button at the top of this page. For non-urgent rides, we recommend booking a day or two out, though we can often handle same-day requests depending on where you live and what vehicles are near you.
Do you accept Medicaid, Medicare or other health insurance?
We take credit card or cash payment if you book directly with us. For payment using health plans or 3rd party-payers, you will need to contact these parties directly to secure authorization of the trips and many of them may require you to book directly through them.
How far in advance should I schedule my ride?
For local Charles County trips — UM Charles Regional, dialysis, a doctor on Charles Street — 24 hours of lead time is plenty. Longer rides to MedStar Washington, Johns Hopkins, or Children's National need 48 to 72 hours because of Beltway traffic. Recurring dialysis rides lock in once.
Do your vehicles accommodate wheelchairs?
Yes — let us know at booking. Our wheelchair-accessible vans come equipped with ramps and secure tie-down systems, and we handle manual chairs, power chairs, and scooters alike. We'll match the right vehicle and driver to your ride.
Can a family member ride along?
Yes, they're welcome. A spouse, adult child, or caregiver can ride at no added cost in most cases — just mention them when you book so the driver knows to expect an extra passenger.

What is NEMT?
NEMT is short for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. It's a service built for riders who need a dependable, respectful way to get to their medical appointments but whose situation doesn't call for a 911 response or an ambulance.
The riders who use NEMT are typically seniors no longer comfortable driving, adults with disabilities, and anyone whose health makes getting behind the wheel risky. The vehicles are built for them — wheelchair-accessible vans with ramps, stretcher units, and cars paired with trained walking assistance.
Most rides fall into a routine — weekly dialysis, cancer treatments, physical therapy, regular doctor visits — with occasional one-off trips for surgery pickups or hospital discharges. The mission behind all of it is simple: keep people connected to the care they need.
Powered by Modern Technology
Our rides run on Duet, a leading NEMT software platform that handles scheduling, live vehicle tracking, and direct communication between you and your driver from booking to drop-off.
More Than a Ride
When a family calls us, they're handing us someone they love — a parent, a spouse, a neighbor who feels like kin. We don't take that lightly. From booking to drop-off, everything we do is built around a single idea: nobody in our care should have to worry about the ride.
