Non-Emergency Medical Transportation in Charlottesville, IN
Safe, reliable rides for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Why Choose Us
Charlottesville is a small town of roughly 700 residents on the historic US-40 corridor in eastern Hancock County, with no hospital, dialysis clinic, or specialty office inside town limits — so nearly every medical trip is a drive out of the community. We provide door-to-door rides from Charlottesville homes west to Hancock Regional Hospital, AMG Specialty Hospital, and Fresenius Kidney Care in Greenfield, and on to IU Health Methodist Hospital, Community Hospital East, and the other downtown Indianapolis campuses for cardiac, oncology, and specialty care that isn't available closer to home.
Each ride starts at your front door — a house in town, a place along Wilkinson Pike, a porch off a county road in Sugar Creek Township. Our driver meets you, walks you to the van, and gets you settled before we pull away. When the appointment ends, we're already at the entrance. It's the kind of care we'd want for our own parents.
On-Time, Every Time
We know medical appointments can't wait. Our providers prioritize punctuality so you never miss a treatment.
Trained, Compassionate Drivers
All drivers are trained in patient assistance, ADA compliance, and safe transport protocols.

They picked me up in my wheelchair without any of the usual fuss. Ramp down, roll on, strap in, let's go. Efficient but never rushed. I felt respected from the first minute to the last.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a ride?
Booking takes one quick phone call to 877-369-5457, or you can tap the "Book a Ride" button on this page. We prefer 24 to 48 hours of notice for non-urgent appointments, though if a van is already running through Greenfield we can often work in a same-day pickup.
Do you accept Medicaid, Medicare or other health insurance?
We take credit card or cash payment if you book directly with us. For payment using health plans or 3rd party-payers, you will need to contact these parties directly to secure authorization of the trips and many of them may require you to book directly through them.
How far in advance should I schedule my ride?
Plan on 24 to 48 hours for routine trips. Because Charlottesville sits 10 to 12 miles east of Greenfield on US-40, with most appointments at Hancock Regional or along I-70 into Indianapolis, leave extra buffer for early dialysis runs and winter weather. Dialysis riders can lock in a standing schedule.
Do your vehicles accommodate wheelchairs?
Absolutely. Mention the chair on the booking call and we'll dispatch a wheelchair-accessible van — outfitted with a rated ramp, securement straps, and room for manual chairs, power chairs, or a mobility scooter. Telling us the exact device up front means the right setup rolls into your driveway.
Can a family member ride along?
In nearly every case, yes. We're happy to have a partner, an adult child, a paid caregiver, or a trusted friend in the van with you, at no extra cost — just flag the second passenger during the booking so we know to keep a seat open.

What is NEMT?
NEMT — Non-Emergency Medical Transportation — is a scheduled ride service for people who need help reaching medical care but aren't in a situation that calls for an ambulance. It sits between calling a relative and dialing 911.
Most riders are older adults no longer comfortable driving, people living with a disability, or anyone whose treatment makes the wheel unsafe. The vehicles fall into three groups: wheelchair-accessible vans with ramps and tie-downs, stretcher units for riders who must travel lying down, and standard cars with drivers trained to help on foot.
Some trips repeat on a steady rhythm — dialysis three mornings a week, weekly chemotherapy, ongoing physical therapy — while others happen once, like a hospital discharge or an outpatient surgery pickup. The intent never changes: keep a ride from being the reason someone misses care.
Powered by Modern Technology
Every Charlottesville ride runs through Duet, a leading NEMT software platform. Riders get live van tracking, dependable pickup windows, and a clear line to their driver from booking all the way to drop-off.
More Than a Ride
Every booking means a family is trusting us with someone they love — a parent, a partner, a longtime neighbor. We take that seriously. From the first phone call to the final drop-off back home in Charlottesville, no one — the rider in the van or the family waiting — should have to wonder how the trip is going.
